Epoxy Silane Oligomer Crosile®AK200 in ECOPOWER

Epoxy Silane Oligomer Crosile®AK200 Silane is an epoxy functional silane oligomer used as an adhesion promoter or enhancer in polysulfide, polyurethane, epoxy and acrylic caulks, sealants, adhesives and coating mixtures.

Epoxy Silane Oligomer Crosile®AK200 Silane promotes adhesion in a variety of applications through multiple epoxy and silane groups per oligomer chain. Its γ-glycidoxypropyl epoxy ring can react with many organic groups, while its alkoxysilane group promotes adhesion to most inorganic substrates. The condensation of its silanol groups can also provide cross-linking between polymer chains.

As a 100% active material, Crosile®AK200 silane can be used at relatively low levels in water-based, solvent-borne or high solids systems.

The addition of the gamma-glycidoxy propyl epoxide ring available in Crosile®AK200 silane helps develop formulations with:

» Enhances corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of coatings, adhesives and sealants

» 100% active material: can be used in waterborne, solvent borne, powder coatings or high solids systems

» Improve wet and dry adhesion

» Lower VOC levels than typical monomeric silanes
