Amino Silane Coupling Agent Crosile® 792
Crosile® 792 Aminoethylaminopropyltrimethoxysilane can be applied from water or organic solvent solutions or added directly to the blending resin. It mixes well with water and alcohols and is moderately soluble in aromatic solvents. However, its solubility in aliphatic solvents is low. Crosile® 792 polymerizes in water, so solutions should be prepared just before use. To prevent gelation, add the silane to water rather than the reverse. Adjusting the pH of the aqueous solution to around 4 with acetic acid can improve solution stability. Dilute solutions in organic solvents are also possible, with alcohols and aromatic solvents being the most suitable. However, avoid using aldehydes, ketones, acids, esters, and alkyl chlorides. Solutions containing water in organic solvents will only slightly enhance stability compared to water solutions of the silane. Crosile® 792 Trimethoxy[3-[(2-aminoethyl)amino]propyl]silane will cure effectively under typical high-temperature cycles used for curing most thermosetting resins. Proper curing usually occurs during the curing or molding of resin/glass laminates. For fabric or surface treatments, drying the silane is usually sufficient for effectiveness. However, for optimal performance, curing for 3 to 5 minutes at 130°C or higher is recommended. Exposure to temperatures above 130°C at some processing stage is crucial for developing maximum moisture resistance.

Hot melt adhesive, also known as hot glue, is a thermoplastic adhesive that changes its physical state with temperature variations within a certain range. It solidifies at low temperatures and becomes flowable at high temperatures while maintaining its chemical properties unchanged. It is non-toxic, odorless, and considered an environmentally friendly chemical product. Due to its solid nature, it is convenient for packaging, transportation, and storage, and it is solvent-free, non-polluting, and non-toxic. Additionally, its simple production process, high added value, strong bonding strength, and fast bonding speed make it highly favored. Currently, the rosin industry mainly processes rosin resins for the hot melt adhesive industry, making it essential to study and research. With increasing concerns about potential hazards posed by various everyday products, along with the development of economies worldwide, the application scope of hot melt adhesive products is expanding. Especially in Europe, the United States, and Asian countries like Japan and South Korea, solvent-based adhesive products are increasingly being replaced by hot melt adhesive products. There are various types of hot melt adhesives, but their overall formulations typically consist of basic resins, tackifiers, viscosity modifiers, and antioxidants. The main types include polyolefin-based hot melt adhesives, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) hot melt adhesives, polyester-based hot melt adhesives, environmentally friendly hot melt adhesives, pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives, and water-based hot melt adhesives. Among these, EVA-based hot melt adhesives, environmentally friendly hot melt adhesives (used for wood and paper composite), pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives, and water-based hot melt adhesives often utilize various types of rosin resins as tackifiers. Use of White Silica Matting Agents in Solvent-Based Wood Finishes
In the coating industry, pigments or fillers are added to achieve a uniform distribution in the coating film, creating a micro-rough surface. The larger the surface particles, the greater the micro-roughness, resulting in lower gloss. In the production of matte coatings, lightweight materials such as precipitated calcium carbonate or talc are often used in large quantities, exceeding the critical pigment volume concentration and leading to issues like poor physical properties of the coating film, such as layering and hard settling. The use of matting agents can prevent these problems.   Matting agents are categorized into organic and inorganic types, with white silica being a prominent inorganic matting agent. This article focuses on the application of white silica matting agent in solvent-based wood coatings: High-Solids Coatings High-solids coatings have a high solid content and low volatile solvents, leading to increased matting agent usage and viscosity. The particle size of the matting agent becomes crucial, and it should be selected based on the dry film thickness. Choosing a matting agent with a small particle size may result in low matting efficiency, higher consumption, and issues like accumulation, whitening, and poor transparency. On the other hand, selecting a matting agent with a larger particle size can meet tactile requirements while achieving the desired matting effect. Clear Varnish Clear varnishes are primarily used to provide gloss to the surface. Matte clear varnishes achieve diffuse reflection by adding matting agents. Factors such as efficiency, particle size, transparency, anti-settling properties, dispersibility, and surface feel should be considered when determining the matting agent dosage. The white silica content in matting agents for coatings should be above 95%, with wax treatment recommended to prevent settling and blockage. Wax treatment enhances compatibility with solvent-based coating systems, improves scratch resistance, and enhances film slip, although it may slightly reduce matting efficiency and transparency. Colored Paints In colored paint systems, pigments and other fillers can provide matting effects, but excessive use may compromise the coating's mechanical and weathering properties.
